There is plenty of new pavement for the road cyclist, and the local mountain bike trails are in superior shape. With this hot weather comes danger of sun exposure, heat exhaustion, and dehydration, none of which should be taken lightly. Here are some tips for cycling in the hot summer.
- Wear sunscreen on your face, neck ears and nose as well as your arms and legs.

- Carry additional electrolytes, salt tablets, and snacks. Eat every hour.
- Freeze a water bottle overnight and take it on your bike. It will gradually melt and provide ice cold sustenance. You can do this with your camelback bladder also.
- Go for a swim after the ride and keep drinking water 1-2 hours once you return home.
- Symptoms of Dehydration
- Symptoms of Dehydration will not always include being thirsty.
